In 2009, July 13, the Chinese Arms Industry Group-made automatic Vertical Extruder, weight 36,000 Tons, is finished thermal debugging successfully in North Heavy Industry Corporation in Baotou city of Inner Mongolia. The first production of a qualified seamless pipe marked the breakthrough of foreign monopoly on large-diameter thick-walled seamless steel pipe manufacturing technology, and China has achieved the world's top level.
    Owning to a long term blockade of foreign technology, nowadays China has to import large-diameter thick-walled seamless steel pipe heavily from abroad with a high price. "After this project successed, at least 500 million dollars will be saved for the State each year, meanwhile, we can achieve large-scale production and industrialization of large-diameter thick-walled seamless steel pipe which will promote to largely cut the production cost in petrochemical industry and power industry, also it has a important meanings to improve our international competitive strength on equipment manufacturing, electric power and petrochemical industry." The Secretary general of Chinese Forging Association Zhangjin said on July, 17 when respond to the journalist from China Industry News.

According to the introduction of Deputy General Manager of the Chinese Arms Industry Group Li Bin, 36,000 Tons of Vertical Extruder has breakthrough the traditional thoughts and method of forging and pressing equipment, there are four breakthrough: First, adopt steel wire wound structure, improve the main bearing press rack and other major components'fatigue life; Second, adopt pre-tension structure, well control the parts weight, reduce the difficulty of manufacturing and transpotation. Third, adopt lower transmission system, improve the stablebility of the instruments. Fourth, adopt 42MPa high-volume pump, direct drive, simple and reliable transmission and easy maintenance.
    General Manager of the Chinese Arms Industry Group Zhang Guoqin said, on next step, our company will try to achieve 50,000 tons an annual, 125,000 tons annual is the second targets. On the basis of electricity power, fully access to the petrochemical industry, nuclear power plants and other fields, pooling every resources to make the Chinese Arms Industry Group as an important heavy equipment manufacturing industry base.
